Meals on Wheels recognizes that many homebound individuals have special needs in addition to receiving proper daily nutrition. Our larger mission—beyond providing meal delivery services that enable our clients to remain independent—is to link these clients to information and services that can have a positive impact on other aspects of their lives. This page endeavors to provide a broad spectrum of useful information for homebound individuals, their families and caregivers. We welcome your suggestions on ways to enhance and improve the information presented here. Please send your comments to the webmaster.

Connect2Help™
Our staff relies on and recommends Connect2Help™ to direct people toward all types of services.

Connect2Help™ publishes a directory of these services in print, and on their Web site in partnership with the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library. The directory includes information divided into the following major categories:

• Basic Needs
• Education
• Employment/Income Sources
• Environment/Public Health
• Health
• Individual and Family Services
• Legal/Law Enforcement
• Mental Health/Substance Abuse
• Other 

Within each of these categories is a collection of informationeverything from finding transportation to getting help with registering to vote or finding an eye doctor. We encourage you to search the Connect2Help website database for information, which is searchable by Zip Code.

Helpline 211
Calling for help with human services is now as easy as calling for emergency help. Just dial 211, and you will be connected with a live person 24 hours per day.  They will help provide information and assistance regarding food, utilities, shelter, counseling, and finding safety from violent situations.  The call center also has bilingual personnel.
