Tropical Evening at Bingo Bash 2007

1As the crowd entered The Mansion at Oak Hill, they heard the sounds of birds chirping and a steel drum playing. A lei was placed around their neck as a welcome to our Meals on Wheels Tropical Paradise Bingo Bash for 2007. As attendees took their seats, they checked out their bag of goodies and began to organize their bingo games, to prepare for the exciting evening ahead.
After enjoying the delectable dinner, guests were treated to island dancing by the Polynesian Fusion Dancers, lead by volunteer coordinator for Beckman Coulter, Kelly Marshall. They really helped set the mood for an evening in paradise.
Our Masters of Ceremony, John Pitz and Rob Lewis, then had the honor of introducing our sponsors, volunteers and clients. It was time for the games to start and guests hurried to purchase raffle tickets, tips for a chance at winning a mystery basket and place bids on silent auction items so they could devote their attention to the numbers being called for bingo.
More than 30 mystery baskets worth $100 each were given away. The silent auction full of enticing items drew many bids as did the live auction which consisted of items signed by Peyton Manning and SuperBowl tickets.   
 There was a lot of activity during intermission, including a hula dance- off, a costume contest and a Don Ho Karaoke contest. The group costume contest was won, once again, by the ladies of FedEx who plan on keeping the tradition going by winning next year. Guests were also given the option to “Adopt a mile and give a smile!” to contribute to our financial funds. With all this going on, guests had to hurry to put their final bids on  silent auction items and purchase raffle tickets all while enjoying special treats of mini cheeseburgers and coconut shrimp. 
After all the prizes won, we must not forget that the real winners of this fundraiser tropical evening were our clients. We would like to sincerely thank our wonderful sponsors, contributors, volunteers, and all the hardworking, behind-the-scenes people mentioned on the following pages.
